FAQ FOR PUBLISHERS: ADDING FOREVER CONNECTED DIGITAL YEARBOOKS
Forever Connected allows you to add a digital yearbook to your print orders, built right from the yearbook PDF.
HOW CAN I ADD FOREVER CONNECTED TO MY YEARBOOK ORDER?
There are two ways to add Forever Connected to your yearbook orders. Some schools will prefer #1, some #2. You can switch on a school-by-school basis
#1 Every print buyer gets a Forever Connected edition
Advantage: Earns most revenue, easiest sales tracking, easiest distribution on yearbook day
Disadvantage: Cost for every buyer is slightly higher.
#2 Students order either a print yearbook or a print+digital bundle
Advantage: Only buyers who want digital get it, lowest cost to non-digital buyers
Disadvantage: School will need to keep track: yearbook buyer or yearbook+digital buyer
Note: Schools that order online should be able to add Forever Connected from the online shopping cart.
HOW DO I PRICE FOREVER CONNECTED?
Entirely up to you. Some publishers bundle it into a package price and make it available to all print buyers (print + Forever Connected), some sell the choice to buy print or print+Forever Connected at an additional price.
HOW DO STUDENTS GET THEIR DIGITAL YEARBOOK?
To unlock their yearbook, students will need a Personal Book ID (aka “code”).
The Personal Book IDs are all unique and delivered printed on a card, ticket or flyer and handed out with print books. Online orders can receive their code via confirmation email.
Any student buyer can receive any Personal Book ID that has been delivered to their school.
Students go to the App store (Apple, Android or Amazon) and download the free Forever Connected yearbook app and register with their Personal Book ID (aka “code”).
SUMMARY: On yearbook day each student buyer gets a print book and if ordered, a Personal Book ID for digital.
Each ID is good for one user only and cannot be shared. (Think of a digital movie ticket).
How codes are generated and supplied is covered elsewhere. What’s important is that schools will receive boxes with an exact number of books and an envelope with an exact number of Personal Book IDs.
Codes will only work for the school that they’re meant for, and any code for that school can be handed out to any print book buyer at that school.
WHAT DO STUDENTS GET WITH THEIR DIGITAL YEARBOOK?
Students get a high-resolution, exact copy of the yearbook which works on all modern tablets & smartphones.
Students can “sign” each classmate’s book with one test-based message.
Students can send up to three stickers to each classmate’s book.
Students can receive a 7-second video message from any of their classmates.
Students can optionally purchase the ability to send one 7-second video message to each classmate as an in-app purchase, These Video “sends” are available in packs of 10 for $1.99. (price subject to change)
WHAT PARENTAL CONTROLS ARE AVAILABLE?
No student under 12, (K-8) can send or receive any messages, stickers or video without parent consent. This is accomplished by capturing parent email and other info in the app during sign up. Forever Connected is COPPA compliant for children under 13 and complies with state-specific regulations as well as compliance in Canada.
The optional, free ParentScreen app allows parents to intercept, monitor, block, enable and disable sending and receiving. It is designed for use with very young children. Learn more at https://www.foreverconnected.co/parentscreen
WHAT ABOUT BULLYING AND ONLINE SAFETY?
Just like print, no one can write in your digital yearbook without your permission (or your parent’s). You can block or delete individual users or messages.
Forever Connected’s messages are one-to-one personal messages—not in a group where so much bullying happens.
Forever Connected is not available on the web on desktop computers or laptops, only on registered phones & tablets. So it’s not searchable by Google.

CAN STUDENTS COPY, PRINT OR SHARE THEIR YEARBOOK?
No! This is not a PDF that can be emailed or shared. Each student (family for young children) has a personal account, like an email account, which will show messages sent from/to that account.
